EL6599 - Early Victorian (1837-45) 1822 pattern infantry officer's sword, with officer's crest. The blade, marked to retailer Webb, has good early Victorian etching, which includes two crests which must be the officer's - so it should be possible with the narrow dating window to pin this down to an individual. The blade is good, a bit of movement in the hilt, the guard has been plated, and there is some damage to the grip covering. Overall a decent example of the pattern with research potential, priced according to the condition and lack of scabbard.
