EL6802 - A Continental cavalry sword by E & F Horster of Solingen. This is essentially the same model as the Italian M1860 and was also used by the Danish and others. One side of the ricasso carries a stamp with the letters BD under a crown, but I don't know which military this relates to. The sword is in good condition generally, particularly the blade, which is smooth and bright, with a service sharpened edge for the half nearest the point. The grip has lost 2/3rds of the wire, and the leather is in place, but has lifted slightly from the wooden core and needs to be glued carefully back down. The original scabbard painted black and in good condition. The hilt is firm on the tang. A big imposing sword with some research potential.
