EL6954 - A good 1899 pattern cavalry trooper's sword by Wilkinson, made in 1901 and issued to the Imperial Yeomanry in the Boer War. In good condition overall, just with some light pitting near the tip of the blade. The guard and pressed checkered leather grips in good condition and everything solid and secure. Numerous markings to the blade, hilt and matching scabbard, showing the date of manufacture and issue marks. The blade has been service sharpened and this sword was presumably carried in South Africa in 1901-1902 in the Boer War. A good example of this relatively scarce pattern.
