EL6283 - An Austrian M1853 Pioneer short sword, or faschinenmesser. This is uncleaned and has some dirt and patina, but should clean up well, being in basically good condition. The grip plates seem to be horn rather than wood, which I believe indicates the earlier model. A brute of a short sword, this thing is about as solid as anything gets. The famous one-sided fullered blade has not been sharpened for use, but there are various government/military stamps and the maker's name. No scabbard (in fact there is one for transport/storage, but it is not original to the sword).
