EL6458 - A lovely early example of a Wilkinson infantry officer's sword, dating to 1845-1850, in very good condition. With the desirable early name and address style on the fuller rather than the ricasso, this would have been one of Wilkinson's earliest swords, and being from before 1854 is not numbered. Being in such good condition and with a heavy brass scabbard, probably indicates that it was a new sword for an officer of Field rank (Major or higher). I think that this has probably been service sharpened, but am not certain as it has a thin edge bevel anyway. A truly lovely example and not an easy sword to find in this condition.
