EL6905 - A 3rd Worcestershire Rifle Volunteers officer's sword, with silver-plated hilt and the owner's heraldic crest etched on the blade. No scabbard. Made by Reeves' famed Toledo Works in Birmingham, around 1860. The guard carrying the distinctive '39' strung bugle, with the regimental designation etched also on the extra detailed blade. The heraldic crest is distinctive and with some research it should be possible to attribute this sword to an officer. The blade is firm in the tang, and despite minor patina and staining, is in quite good condition. The plating of the guard has a little crazing, but is generally also quite good. A very nice grip and it retains the sword knot.
