Product Details

EL6584 - Good example of the 1853 pattern cavalry sword, with a scabbard marked to the Royal Horse Artillery, made by Mole. In very clean condition, bright overall, with very good leather grips. Everything tight and solid. The RHA and rack marking clear to the scabbard, this is not replicated on the sword (so it's difficult to say whether they were matched up later, though they fit well) - the guard of the sword where we'd expect to find regimental markings has different designation, but that could be a later Yeomanry engraving. So either this was originally a RHA sword, then passed onto the Yeomanry, or the sword and scabbard got swapped at some point (but the scabbard is the correct model).
