EL6719 - An 1853 pattern cavalry trooper's sword, with the tip blunted for cavalry drill practice. It was standard practice in the British Army to use the previous (out of regulation) models of swords as practice swords. They had their edges blunted if necessary, and the pointed tips removed and rounded. That is what has happened to this example, the blade now being 33 inches long (reduced from 35) and rounded off. Otherwise, it's a good example of the pattern and in good condition. Everything is solid and sound, the grips are good and it only has minimal patina for the age. No scabbard, as these were disposed of for practice swords.
