Product Details

EL6177 - A British infantry officer's sword 1845 pattern, dating to between 1845 and around 1860. The blade is mostly plain and devoid of etching, except near the ricasso, but remains quite bright. It seems to have been service sharpened and is fairly tight in the hilt, but with a tiny bit of movement to the brass guard. The proof slug is missing and there is no maker or retailer's name. The brass hilt is in good shape for the most part, with patina and a little damage to the hinge of the folding drop section, which means that it is a bit looser than it should be - but it still stays in place anyway. The brass scabbard with heavy patina and some dents. A Crimean War era sword that probably saw campaign use, but now in need of some TLC.
