ELC1019 - An un-researched British 1845 pattern infantry officer’s sword by Henry Wilkinson, numbered 15045 (for 1867). The sword is in good condition, with the hilt retaining almost all of its shagreen and wiring intact, although there is a small loss near the pommel. The 32 1/2” blade has three initials (F, L or J, F) meaning that between the Wilkinson Proof records and the army lists for 1867 identification of the officer is quite likely. The sword is un-researched currently. The blade is in good condition aside from two notches and has clear etching along its length and a percussion point mark on the spine. The scabbard is in poorer condition with several dents and some patches of pitting though it is structurally sound. A good example of the type, by the top maker, with research potential.
