EL6625 - A late Victorian infantry officer's sword made by top maker Pillin and retailed by Hobson. Plain blade, almost straight, with extensive service sharpening and retaining a decent edge. Housed in an unusual unlined leather scabbard, with the chape missing at the bottom. There is a little bit of movement in the guard, but the rest of the hilt seems firm on the tang. The grip is good. A bit of rust on the blade which is not deep and should clean off. Overall this seems to be a sword than an officer chose for campaign and took on active service, but it is in need of a clean up.
