EL6155 - A good Victorian example of the 1821 pattern heavy cavalry sword, featuring an imposing 36 inch blade. The blade and hilt with some light pitting and patina, but generally clean and bright. The large and well-balanced blade firm in the hilt, with Enfield acceptance stamp, ENFIELD factory stamp to the spine and the date 1849. The wooden grip with almost all of the leather covering remaining and everything solid. Lacking its scabbard, hence the price. A really nice big sword that is surprisingly nimble for its impressive size.
