EL6109 - A pre-1845 dated pipe-back-bladed 1821 pattern heavy cavalry officer's sword in bright and clean condition. No maker or retailer name visible, nor any other blade etching, as the whole sword has been cleaned bright over time. The shagreen and grip wire in very good condition. The hilt firm on the hilt, but with lateral movement in the guard due to the loss of the leather washer. This could perhaps be rectified with tightening the hilt. A big 35 inch blade that tracks and moves fantastically in the hand, this sword most probably dates to the 1830s or early 40s.
