EL6836 - An excellent late-17th century Northern European Walloon style broadsword. Featuring an iron guard and pommel, with thumb-ring, and twist-wire covered grip. Probably dating to around 1670-1700. The tapered blade is 31.5 inches long, having two hollow-ground edges and a notable midrib. The blade features Latin mottos, as well as engraved scrolling decoration, and it is my opinion that the blade is older than the hilt, perhaps from 1600 or earlier. There is a little bit of movement in the hilt, patina to all parts and a dent in one of the cutting edges (pictured). Good condition for the age, and feels great in the hand.
