EL6816 - A good 1796 pattern light cavalry trooper's sabre, by Thomas Craven. Most of the leather remaining to the grip, patina but no notable pitting to the hilt. The whole sword was varnished, which preserved it well. The blade is now cleaned, so that has a nice smooth finish, with virtually no pitting, with just some stains here and there. The whole sword is a good 'sleeper' in tidy condition, which could benefit from some careful further cleaning. The leather washer is in place, but there is a very tiny bit of movement in the guard if you look for it, but I would generally describe the hilt as firm on the tang. No scabbard.
