EL6236 - A 1796 pattern infantry officer's sword (spadroon). Of good quality (though unknown) manufacture, the blade in quite good condition, partially bright with some patches of corrosion. The blade and hilt are firm and tight, which is not so common with this pattern. The hilt is in very nice condition, with good silver grip wire and quite a bit of gilding remaining to the brass parts. A well-handling spadroon of better than average quality.
